Shoes are so fascinating!!

What exactly is the fascination with putting on shoes that are about 10 sizes too big for you?? I don't know - but I do know that Emily loves to find a pair of shoes and attempt to put them on and walk around. Does it work very well? No, not really, but it does make for some great, funny pictures....

We also had a great time baking cookies today. I don't usually get such good help! Emily was so into baking today and by the time we were done, I had a huge mess to clean up. But it was worth it!

An Exciting Weekend

Our weekend started off with some great news about one of our friends, Sara, who found out she did not have breast cancer!! So we had to celebrate!! She had us and some of our other friends over to their place out in Roy and we hung out and played some games and didn't get home until 1pm in the morning (this is a very late night for us these days)! Emily came too and actually slept in her pack n play (something she hasn't ever done before!)

On Saturday we worked very hard cleaning our garage....a little early spring cleaning (you should have seen our garage....it was very difficult to walk around in! It was very nice out but very cold! Emily had a great time helping us. Actually I think she made more work for us - as we tried to organize one bin, she was unpacking another!!

Emily's crazy face after I put on a cute hat to go out into our very cold garage

Can you say sushi?!? That is what was on our minds that night. Saturday night was a long awaited date night for Todd and I. We dropped Emily off at Margit's to spend the night and we headed to Kate's house to go to a great sushi place in Federal Way and then to the big hockey game in Kent. The Thunderbirds were playing Everett, so it was a fiesty game and lots of fighting!! Very exciting!!

Sunday was not a fun as the rest of the weekend....I ended up at urgent care because I was sick last week and it hit me hard on Sunday. Turns out I had a sinus infection and just needed some anitbiotics. Thank goodness - 24 hours later and I was good to go!

Emily & I chilling on the couch while I attempted to get some rest

Monday was a holiday for us bankers (gotta love the job for this alone!) and Emily and I relaxed with Todd most of the day while he worked from home. We ventured out to the store and also outside even though it was 34 degrees and played with Penny. Emily looooooooooooves to play with Penny! (for those of you who don't know who Penny is, she is our pet potbellied pig)

Do these pics even need captions!?! I don't think so!!

So that was our weekend in a nut shell.....wasn't it exciting?!?

Aren't Lunch Breaks the Best?

For those of us that are lucky to work full time (ha!) we are allotted a wonderful thing called a lunch hour....something that I must admit is the my favorite part of the day (besides getting my coffee in the morning and having my little 13 month old follow me around while I get ready to leave). Anyway, here's why I love my lunch hour:

  1. It is 60 whole minutes of not working!
  2. You can eat whatever you want without anyone to check in with (except my guilt as I scarf down a cheeseburger)
  3. You can take a nap if you want to
  4. You can go shopping if you want to
  5. You can meet a friend if you want to
  6. You can run errands if you want to (this happens to be what I do most so that I can go straight home after work and be with my family)
  7. OR you can meet family if you want to.....
Which leads me to this blog. I had lunch with my mom and dad today and it was simple and very nice. We met at burger king and just sat back and chatted and caught up....which is very hard to do with either my siblings around or my daughter. I hadn't seen my parents since Christmas so it was so nice to just catch up.

Lunch breaks are truly my saving grace during the day...until it's back to the office again. Love you mom and dad!!!

Virus Weekend

This past weekend was boring in a whole different sense of the word. Emily started the weekend with a cold...runny nose, cranky, you know the sorts. Then I ended up getting sick and it was NOT fun. Normally I'm not such a baby when I'm sick (or at least I'd like to think so), but this time I definitely was! Poor Todd - he had not only take care of my every need (and there were a lot) but he had to take care of Emily AND put up with my "tude." So anyway, we spent the entire weekend at home with the exception of Saturday night when Todd escaped for a few hours to a friends house. By Sunday I got a little restless and what did I do?? Rearranged my bedroom and hung some pictures! Who would have thought I was even sick! We ended the weekend with a fun little teaparty Todd put together for us girls and then the two of us had a quiet night of playing games. All in all it was a pretty good weekend considering I was sick.

Emily helping me in the kitchen....well, sort of. More like causing me more mess!

Our bedroom after I decided to rearrange it. It's hard to tell in this picture but it makes our room look larger. Before the bed went against the wall on the left.

One of the pictures we hung today. This was a piece made by my sister-in-law Robin. If you look carefully it reads our name!

Our tea party! Look at Miss Emily cheesing for the camera. She's such a ham!

Everyone loves playing in the mud!!

This past weekend, the Richardts had a day of 4 wheeling.......on Kate and Pat's quads. We went out to Kate's mom's property and took advantage of a beautiful day to romp around in the mud!! Emily had a great time playing inside with little Katherina and Kate's mom Nancy. Here's some pics of the fun we all had.

Todd and I on one of the quads.....He's in blue, I'm in yellow (it's a little hard to tell!)

Happy New Year 2009!!

Happy New Year to all our friends and family! We hope this year is good for us all - that is a prosperous year, and one where our dreams continue to come true...

Here's some fun pictures from the party Todd and I went to. Emily stayed at Grandma Margit's house and Todd and I ventured out to our friend Doug and Franki's for a very elegant party. We played cards and danced the night away!!
